After a leisure breakfast, proceed to Tirappane. Check in at the hotel and later this afternoon proceed to visit Nachaduwa.
This unique drive takes you well off the beaten track, weaving along earthen tracks through rural countryside dominated by rice paddies. Birds and buffalo are often sighted alongside other wildlife, including elephants, particularly when you reach scenic Nachchaduwa Lake, a vast reservoir framed by dense pockets of forest and the distant hills. This setting makes a great spot for enjoying sundowners before heading back to the hotel.

Kandy, or “Mahanuwara”, is the last capital of the ancient kings’ era in Sri Lanka. Tucked away amidst the hills, the Kingdom of Kandy is rich in religious history. The last king of Kandy, having embraced Buddhism, made Kandy home to the tooth relic of the Lord Buddha. It was said that the protector of the relic would also be the ruler of the land and the relic was placed close to the royal palace in what is now known as the Temple of the Tooth. Built in the image of the temples of Anuradhapura, the Temple of the Tooth is one of the holiest places of worship and pilgrimage for Buddhists around the world. The Temple of the Tooth is now a World Heritage site, and many visitors can partake in Buddhist rituals, or “pooja” throughout the day, a spiritual and special experience.

After breakfast, this morning proceed to Peradeniya Railway Station to catch your train to Nuwara Eliya. Board the train from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, The Train journey will take you through approximately 20 manmade tunnels, gray stone cliffs and rivers will flash past your window with occasional views of enormous waterfalls cascading down the mountainside, while the Train keeps climbing steadily through to Hatton then Nanu Oya. By the time you reach Nanu Oya station (Nuwara Eliya) the driver guide will be at the station and will drive you through Nuwara Eliya. Nuwara Eliya, because of its invigorating mountain climate and scenery, is Sri Lanka's most popular hill resort. Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lanka's tea country producing a significant share of the world's best tea. Sri Lanka's highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8,282 feet) is located here. Nuwara Eliya also has one of the finest 18-hole golf courses in South Asia. In Nuwara Eliya, visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the best tea in the world is produced. Learn about the process of manufacturing tea and see how tea is graded. And afterwards, sample a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory. On completion return back to your hotel in Kandy and be at leisure
